About us

CareFest

CareFest is an annual fundraising event that supports the outreach programs of ResourceCare, benefiting patients and families across six Big Country communities. One hundred percent of CareFest proceeds are reinvested locally through programs designed to meet real needs throughout the year.

CareFest funds a wide range of outreach efforts, including Vittles by Vehicle, ASPIRE (an after-school program serving six school districts), Day Camp (a three-week summer program for children ages 3 through sixth grade that also employs more than 60 junior high and high school students), Senior Citizen Day, Christmas for Teens, Toys for Tots, Christmas for Senior Citizens, Back-to-School Supplies, and the Emergency Assistance Program, which helps individuals and families facing financial hardship.

Tickets for CareFest will be available beginning April 1 at www.outhousetickets.com.

CareFest is made possible through the support of local businesses and community sponsors. For sponsorship information, please email carefest@resourcecare.org.

Big Country C.A.R.E.S.

Big Country C.A.R.E.S. (Community Assisting, Rebuilding, Educating, Serving) was formed to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of CareFest. The nonprofit was established to provide leadership, continuity, and support for the festival and similar community-focused fundraising efforts across the Big Country.

The organization is spearheaded by Johnny Wade of BrecknAll Electric, who helped step in to preserve CareFest during a critical time and guide it toward a stronger future. Big Country C.A.R.E.S. is led by a volunteer board that includes Johnny Wade, Becky Wade, Mindy Ayers, Bryce Asher, Ragan Riley, and Victoria Arriola.

In addition to supporting CareFest, Big Country C.A.R.E.S. hopes to assist other communities interested in hosting similar fundraising events in the future.
